This past weekend we officially got our first real taste of winter with a surprise snow day! Well, at least it was a surprise for me considering I assumed the Apple weather app had to be wrong when it predicted snow in NYC on Saturday. Low and behold, it snowed all day and it was just perfect! Of course we had to get out and shoot in such ideal holiday weather, and The Plaza Hotel made for the perfect backdrop. The Plaza is one of those hotels that just eminates elegance, and luxury; and it’s such an iconic NYC spot that I’ve been dying to shoot there. To complete this festive shoot, I thought my cranberry-colored chenille sweater, embroidered booties, and this adorable beanie would do just the trick. Read on for the details!
Recreate My Look:
First off, my sweater is from Mandee and as I mentioned in this post, chenille is my absolute favorite material this year. It’s so incredibly soft and cozy and I can’t get enough! Linking to some gorgeous chenille sweaters I’ve been eyeing lately down below.
My jeans are from Forever 21 and honestly, if you don’t have a pair of distressed black denim, what are you doing? Jk, but they’re super versatile and can be worn with almost anything in your closet so I definitely recommend. They’re great. My booties (which I’m completely obsessed with) are from Express and I actually got these on sale on Black Friday which made them a complete steal. A little birdie told me they’re still on sale at Express though so…? Finally, my beanie is from ILYmix which I’ve mentioned before in this post. They have the SOFTEST blanket scarves and really cute winter accessories like this beanie. I also have a special discount code for you guys in case you’re in the market for some cute outerwear/gifts! Total transparency though: they’re shipping does take a little while so I can’t guarantee they’ll get here for Christmas 🙁 in case that’s what you were thinking. But give them a look through and if you see something you like, use my code KACIE20 to get 20% off your purchase 🙂
