Wow, how is it already Thursday you guys? Is it just me, or has this week low-key flown by? Definitely not complaining, ha! Today I figure we can keep it short and sweet with this black and white outfit. Craig and I took a trip over to Dumbo in Brooklyn and it was so cool shooting in a more “city-esque” location. If you’ve been following my blog, you know I usually shoot in really natural looking locations though I’m trying to switch it up more since this IS an NYC blog after all, haha. Any who, let’s get into this fabulous, embellished collar shall we?
So let’s start with this top and the beautiful embellished collar. It’s from the Forever 21 Contemporary collection and it’s so different for me but I love it! I don’t typically do collared shirts (except for flannels—your girl loves her flannels) but this one obviously caught my eye because (hello!) bling! It’s like the designers of this shirt were like “yes, let’s give this collar some pretty details with intricate cut-outs!” and then someone else in the room decided to take it one step further and threw some rhinestones and pearls on there for good measure. To that person, I say thank you! It’s perfect. Also a huge fan of the buttons going down the back and the oversized fit. It’s kind of like the more glam version of your boyfriend’s basic button-down, and I’m so here for it. Okay okay, moving on. My leggings are from Forever 21, you know the ones in the basics section for like $2.90. (Side note, I just checked the site and they’re $3.90 now? When did this happen?!) Any who, I pick up like two or three pairs whenever I go by the store since I wear them like crazy (perfect for traveling, errands, and lazy days). My boots are from H&M and they’re the perfect black suede bootie to throw on with any outfit and look like you tried. There’s something about a bootie with a slight heel that just makes me feel instantly more put together. Mine are old but these are perfect and under $40!
Finally (didn’t I say I was going to keep this short? Oops!) my purse is a Michael Kors beauty and was actually a Christmas gift from my wonderful mama last year 🙂 It’s a bit large for everyday but I love bringing this to important events, interviews, or any occasion where I want to look more dressy. Mine is the Hamilton style but it looks like they’ve updated it a tiny bit since last year when I got it. Still a beauty though! This bag, plus my heeled booties, and embellished collar totally made me feel like I could take on the world.
