Okay ladies, (and gents!) we are officially knee-deep in fall right now and of course, I’m loving it. As y’all know by now, I love everything about this season; from the cooler weather, to the soft sweaters and cozy blankets, the seasonal treats/drinks…you get the picture, ha! I’ve spent the last couple of Thursdays sharing some of my favorite fall candles and favorite fall lip colors with you guys and today I thought we could keep that going by sharing my favorite fall fashion trends right now. These are my favorite looks that I keep seeing on my Instagram feed, and my daily store emails. Now I’m not one to stalk the runways and keep up on all the latest trends; I would say my style is more classic, affordable and relaxed than anything. But I do love to incorporate some of the seasonal trends into my wardrobe, in ways that stay true to me and my personal style. I just believe that it’s important to adjust the trends to you, not the other way around.
First up we have my absolute favorite trend this fall—bell sleeves! I’ve been seeing an insane amount of dresses, sweaters, and blouses with bell sleeves and I am so here for it. They just add such a feminine and girly touch to an otherwise basic outfit and really pull a look together, in my opinion. Pair a pretty bell sleeved top with your favorite pair of jeans and booties, and you’re good to go! I feel like they’re an unexpected statement piece that every wardrobe should have.
Next up, lace up sweaters! Now the “lace up” look isn’t new to fall, (it’s been pretty big in 2017 as a whole) but I specifically am loving this trend on a sweater versus, say, a body suit. I love the thicker laces and whether it’s on the front of back, I think it’s such a cute detail and opportunity to show off a pretty bralette.
Moving on to my next favorite trend of this season—VELVET! Velvet everything, just give me all the velvet. It’s so incredibly soft and immediately makes me feel all the fall cozy vibes. Luckily for us, this trend is pretty universal; it can be worn as a top, a scarf, a hat, boots, you name it! Add some velvet to your life this year, you won’t regret it.
Finally, we have the blanket scarf. These are nothing new or groundbreaking but I feel like I’ve seen these nonstop this season! Especially in a pretty plaid pattern. Plaid blanket scarves are just such a classic piece, I honestly don’t know how I’ve been living without them for the last 24 years but I definitely plan to change that this year, ha! Get you a blanket scarf, wrap it around you and sip on your hot apple cider like the fall goddess you are!
