It’s been a long time since I did one of these “Five Things” posts. If you’re new to my blog, this is basically just an easy way for me to share some random life things I’ve been loving or trying lately. From new skincare to a new playlist I’m obsessed with, these “Five Things” posts are kind of like a little catch-all to connect with you, my readers. So, without further ado, here’s the first “Five Things” of 2021!

- I’ve been trying out a new skincare routine over the past few months and REALLY love it. Thinking I’ll do a full post with my updated skincare routine, but I will say that one of my favorite additions has been this new serum cream from Garnier. It has Vitamin C and sunscreen in it so it’s kind of a multipurpose product that combines a bunch of steps, which I’m actually a fan of. At the risk of tooting my own horn, my skin has been doing really well lately (less breakouts, less oil, etc.) so I’m happy.
- I have a new favorite Spotify playlist! Okay okay, this Chill Hits playlist that I mentioned last year still holds a major place in my heart. But this Locked In playlist that my best friend Vanessa sent me is SO GOOD when you want something to turn up to. Craig and I recently drove back to NYC from our holiday in Florida and blasted this playlist for hours. 10/10 recommend.
- If you need a new feel-good show to binge, might I recommend Great British Baking Show? I know I’m pretty late to this train, so forgive me if you’ve already watched, but it is so good! We just finished the first available season on Netflix and jumped right into the next one. We love a good cooking competition show, (MasterChef is one of our absolute favorites) so this was the perfect still-in-quarantine show for us to binge. Who knew there were so many different kinds of sponge cakes?
- A new habit I’m trying to build this year has been journaling. So far it’s been pretty good! I mentioned in this post that I want to build a real morning routine for myself this year, to start my days on a more positive note, and journaling is a big part of that routine. I picked up this one from Target a couple months ago and try to write in it daily. Each morning I write down two or three things I’m grateful for, my four resolutions or intentions for this year, and then leave half the page open for any thoughts/feelings I want to write down.
- The spring cleaning process has begun. And it feels really good. I have A LOT of clothes and shoes and all sorts of things; and especially being a blogger, I accrue things at a pretty fast pace compared to other people. Pair that with living in a 600 square foot apartment with another person and minimal closet space…and you get a very cluttered one bedroom apartment, haha. Since we’ve been back from Florida the past couple months, Craig and I have been trying to work on decluttering and getting rid of things that we no longer need/use. It’s been really freeing actually. We did a major closet clean-out a couple weeks ago and though I thought it was enough, it wasn’t. As new spring clothes arrive for me to shoot and share here on the blog, social media, or my Youtube channel, I’m quickly realizing I could stand to go through some more things. I bring this up because if you’re like me and in NYC, I found this great company that will come PICK UP YOUR GENTLY-USED CLOTHING & SHOES FOR FREE AND DONATE THEM FOR YOU!!! This was huge for me because it’s just not that easy to donate clothes where I live in Brooklyn. It’s a huge hassle to pack everything up, make your way to a Salvation Army location that is already cluttered and disorganized, and just leave everything there with the feeling that your donation probably won’t even end up in the right hands. This company eliminates all of that; you just text the provided phone number to set up a pick-up day/time, and pass off your full bags to the worker who arrives at your scheduled time. And that’s it! Easy peasy.
I hope you enjoyed this little chit-chat Five Things post! Ideally I want to do these more often than just once a year (lol) so I’ll try to do one each season going forward. As usual, you can follow me on Instagram, Twitter, and Youtube, and if you really enjoyed this post, be sure to subscribe to my new weekly newsletter so you get alerted about future blog posts, the best sales, and more!
