It is Aprilāthe official start of Q2 and the beginning of blooming trees and flowers everywhere. Warmer temps are slowly becoming more regular and the days growing longer. I’ve gotta say, I feel really good about this month. I was journaling yesterday morning, and I don’t know, something about it being a new month and a Monday just made me feel optimistic and hopeful for the month ahead. There’s a lot going on, between birthdays and holidays, plus I have an ambitious editorial calendar for my blog/social media this month. But instead of feeling overwhelmed, I feel good. I’m excited to see how things develop.
And I think you can kind of feel this sunny and positive approach I’m taking to the month in this mood boardāor at least I hope that you can. I typically think of April as kind of rainy and chilly but this year, we’re bringing all the sunshine and warm vibes early on. Here’s hoping that Mother Nature takes my hint and decides to join in š
April Intentions
1) More movement! This was actually an intention from last month’s post, but I’m carrying it into this month because it still stands. We’ve officially started our post-work walks again over the last couple weeks and man, is it nice to get outside and get some fresh air. I’m sure my body also loves getting in some additional steps since, for the most part, this pandemic has absolutely destroyed my daily step goals and I regularly do less than 1000 per day, hah! So, in April, I plan to do more walks and add in some yoga and pilates via Y7 Online Classes and the Peloton app.
2) Crush Mattie James’ Consistency Challenge on Instagram! I love following Mattie for all of her content creation tips, and she hosts these challenges every few months where participants need to post on Instagram at least once per day, all month long. Her team then chooses a winner at the end of the month, and they get some cash money while also learning to flex their consistency musclesāsomething I desperately need to get back into using. The challenge started yesterday so I’m excited to see how I do and if I can complete it! Be sure to follow along HERE.
3) This one is another carry-over from last month. More books! I actually really enjoy reading and I feel like I have a bunch of books (in my book case and on my Kindle app) that I bought and never read/finished. So I want to pick those back up and finish two books this month. It’s a modest goal, and I hope that by keeping it that way it’ll actually get me to do it! I’m also part of a book club with my sorority sisters so that should knock out one book on its own. Would you be interested in book reviews here on the blog? Let me know in the comments.
April Style Picks
April purchases for me usually lean towards summertime fashion. I know it’s only the beginning of spring, but the two seasons really blend seamlessly together so these pieces typically work for both spring and summer. This year, I have serious wanderlust and am craving a beach vacation (check out this post for all the vacation pieces you need!). Give me all the woven bags, cute one piece swimsuits and sandals, please!
I hope you enjoyed today’s post! You can expect a monthly mood board along with my intentions/goals and style picks from here on out, so make sure to check back each month! Let me know what you’re most looking forward to this month and as always, head over to Instagram, Twitter or Facebook to follow along in real time.
