Loving Lately—From Amazon

September 23, 2019

amazon finds, nyc blogger, amazon recent purchases, strapless bra amazon review, affordable blogger, relatable bloggers, black girls who blog

Hello, hello! Happy Monday for those reading this on the first day it’s live. I’m really excited about today’s post because I’m sharing some of my recent lifestyle finds from Amazon that I’ve been loving. These products have been kind of game-changers in my day-to-day life and I just need to share them with you guys!

Memory Card Reader Adapter for iPhone

I’ve mentioned this little guy on the blog before but I just can’t get over how such a simple little gadget could make such a big difference. I didn’t even realize that I needed this until I saw it in Monroe’s YouTube video (definitely check her out!) but once I saw it, I knew I needed it. And everyone that I show it to feels the exact same way. Essentially it’s a card reader that plugs directly into your iPhone, so once you’re done shooting on your DSLR camera, you can just pop the SD card directly into this adapter and import the photos onto your phone. It’s so great because it takes out that extra step of having to transfer photos to your computer, and then airdrop them or email them to your phone and go through the motions from there. It really makes it easier for bloggers/content creators like myself. I literally bought a second one to keep in my camera bag and in my purse so that I have one at all times!

Seamless Strapless Bra

I’ve been looking for a good strapless bra for as long as I can remember and honestly had given up until I saw this one in a viral online article. For bustier girls like myself, you know the struggle with strapless bras. They either dig into your sides; they don’t stay up; they have some weird gapping situation going on; or a combination of the three! It’s super annoying and uncomfortable but this bra solves all of that AND it’s only $33. It comes in a few colors and I like that they had a light nude option as well as this darker brown option. I will say that in person the color has a bit of a mauve tone to it versus a true brown but that doesn’t bother me much. I wore this all summer with my strappy dresses and tops and loved it! It doesn’t gap or dig at all and it actually stays up which I was really surprised about. I might go back and get the black as well…

White Shelving Unit

You probably recognize this little shelving unit (or something similar) from Target but let me tell you why I’m linking this one from Amazon instead: it’s under 20 bucks! Say whaaaat?! I was looking for a simple shelf unit to put on top of this built-in shelf in my closet (vertical storage is the only way to survive in NYC) and after searching IKEA and Target, Amazon finally came through for me! It’s about 31 inches tall and I plan to use it to store my handbag collection. Now if you prefer a unit with a bottom panel so it looks more “finished” (this one doesn’t have one but since it’s just going in my closet I didn’t care) this one from Target is also a good option and only a few dollars more.

Long iPhone Charger Cables

These really aren’t that exciting but they have been a game changer for me. You know how short those iPhone cables can be. Well these are 6ft. long and covered in this silver nylon thread material so they feel a bit nicer and more heavy duty. Our new apartment has wall outlets that already have the USB plug holes in them so you don’t have to waste the 3-prong holes on phone chargers, and we decided to pick up a pack of these long chords to keep plugged into the wall. It’s so nice not having to move chargers from room to room and it’s even nicer that you can have your phone plugged in and still be able to use it without having to stand right by the outlet, since these are so long. Really can’t recommend them enough and they’re just 10 bucks for this pack of three!

Globe String Lights

Last but not least, these string lights. When we got our new apartment, one of my first priorities was to furnish the balcony because we were super excited to finally have some outdoor space and wanted to get in as much time out there as possible before it gets too cold. These string lights were one of my first purchases since I knew that I wanted to create a soft ambiance throughout the space. I also opted for these globe lights versus regular fairy lights because I liked the aesthetic and felt they’d do better in the elements than typical fairy lights.

So that’s it! My five favorite recent purchases from Amazon. Let me know if you guys like posts like these and if you want to see more Amazon finds or any other specific retailer! Thinking of doing a Target edition next? Let me know your thoughts and any of YOUR recommendations in the comments, and as usual you can find me on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter!
