Welcome to my monthly recap! Here I’ll share all the things I loved, bought, watched, listened to and more during the previous month.
Pretty Little Purchases
May was another big shopping month for me but I got a lot of goodies…
Fave Purchases:
This new day cream from my faves over at ELEMIS
Snagged this gorgeous Free People dress during the Shopbop sale
These woven mules have been a go-to for springtime
This line of products from Shea Moisture has been soo great on my natural hair
Pretty Little Memories
May went by so fast to me! Highlights from the month were definitely getting to see my younger cousin (basically my brother) graduate from college and hanging out with family in Philly; getting outside and enjoying the nice weather we finally got in NYC; attending a cool event with Innersense Organic Beauty, exploring the brand new Hudson Yards area that opened over in West Chelsea (there’s a whole shopping mall!); and of course the start of Summer Fridays at work! We get out at 1pm on Fridays now and I feel so free.

Five Things
What I Listened to…
Lots of podcasts! Lots of Old Town Road and I feel like I was on a bit of a country music kick again so I listened to some of my old faves like Sam Hunt a lot.
What I Watched…
Game of Thrones ended and though the finale was a bit disappointing, it was fun to watch the final season in real time instead of binging. We also watched a bunch of our usual shows that I’ve mentioned in previous recaps. We did see some fun movies last month though! Avengers: Endgame was good but not as amazing as everyone was saying, in my opinion. I know we’re super late but Crazy Rich Asians was a fun watch obviously. We also watched Cinderella (the old version with Brandy & Whitney Houston) with my family and it was so fun watching one of our old favorite movies and singing along to the songs. 10/10 recommend if you’ve never seen that version!
Where We Ate…
Rosa Mexicano
Went to brunch here for Cinco De Mayo with some of my NYC blogger girlfriends and it was great! I believe they have a few locations in the city but we went to the one by Union Square and I definitely recommend it. I had the fish tacos and they were super good. Also obviously loved the chips and guac.
Zona Rosa
I put in double duty on Cinco De Mayo and went to dinner here with my besties that night. It’s a cute little Mexican spot in Brooklyn and has a fun, low-key vibe. We got the margaritas (delicious), the queso fundido and guac (so good), and I had the steak enchiladas for dinner which were tasty!
Max Brenner’s Chocolate Bar
OMG this is one of my favorite restaurants in NYC! Their food admittedly isn’t the best, most wonderful thing I’ve ever tasted but it’s an entire restaurant themed around chocolate, and anyone who knows me knows that chocolate is the key to my heart. Craig let’s us go here maybe once or twice a year so I was super excited to go last month. Recommendations: the classic chocolate martini, the tiramisu cocktail (forget the exact name), the mac ‘n cheese (add crispy chicken—so good), the Brenner burger, and literally any dessert. They’re all delicious.
