It’s official. I have the world’s biggest travel bug. Okay maybe that’s not entirely true, but I do have this undying wanderlust that’s only been getting stronger this year, as I travel to more and more new places. I mentioned over on Instagram that this year is huge for me because I finally got my passport (woo!) and I have tons of travel plans throughout the first half of the year. We’re talking one trip at the end of each month except for maybe April (for now at least?). And it’s exciting! I love traveling and seeing new places, and it’s something I’ve always wanted to do. After recapping my recent trip to Atlanta, GA a couple of weeks ago (one of my favorite cities; go read the post here if you haven’t already!), I thought it might be fun to continue the travel theme this week and share my current Travel Bucket List with you guys! These are the places that if I could pick up and go anywhere tomorrow, I totally would. I’m sure this list will continue to grow (there’s so much world to see!) but for now, here are my top places to travel in the foreseeable future (in no particular order). Let’s go!
1. Maldives
We’re all familiar with those insanely awesome over-water bungalows by now. I’m totally enamored with the idea of living over the open ocean and that turquoise water is literally calling my name! (As I write this from my Brooklyn apartment with a freaking Nor’easter raging outside ?)
2. Hawaii
I’ve felt a strong pull to Hawaii for at least the last five years. Aside from the gorgeous tropical landscape and climate, I’m so intrigued by the culture there. The slower pace, zen vibes and connection with nature is something I crave to experience for myself. I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I’ve fantasized about leaving NYC and the corporate jobs for a slower island life, selling coconuts and handmade bracelets in Maui…ha, a girl can dream right?!
3. Banff, Canada
Is it just me, or did you also notice that basically every blogger & you-tuber traveled to Banff National Park last year and got those gorgeous photos of them in a canoe on an insanely turquoise lake with mountains in the background? Well, they completely sold me. Me and Craig always talk about taking a cool mountain vacation one day and I think Banff would be an awesome place to start.
4. Los Angeles, California
I’m an East Coast girl, through and through. However I’m so curious about life on the west coast! Plus I just feel like you have to visit LA at least once in your life if you live in the US. The furthest I’ve been so far is to Las Vegas and I loved it, so LA, I’m coming for ya!
5. Paris, France
Everyone wants to go to Paris. I don’t even have to explain this one, do I?
6. Kenya, Africa
My boss at my old job said that Kenya is his favorite place to visit in Africa, and that he’d been multiple times. After looking at photos from his trip, I was completely sold. It’s always been a dream of mine to go on a real African safari, and there’s this amazing giraffe manor in Kenya where giraffes literally roam the grounds and can walk up to your window! How cool?! I want to visit other countries in Africa as well (it’s a massive continent after all!) but Kenya is definitely first on my list.
7. Bali, Indonesia
Bali just feels like the quintessential tropical jungle destination. Every single photo I’ve ever seen of Bali, has been breathtaking and obviously, I’d love to take a ride on that infamous Ubud Swing ?
8. Iceland
Black sand beaches, ice caves, and the blue lagoon? PLUS a chance to see the Northern Lights? Sign. Me. Up.
9. London, England
The birth place of Harry Potter (my favorite book and movie series of all time) had to make my list. At first I wasn’t all that interested in London but I always hear such great things about the city. Between the stunning architecture, the accents (I’m a sucker for cool accents, hah!), and the new Harry Potter play, I definitely want to make a stop in London one day.
10. Santorini, Greece
I want to go to Santorini SO badly. The stunning waters and gorgeous architecture (I’m obsessed with all of those white and blue houses covering the hillside!) are something I have to see with my own eyes. I feel like this would be the perfect honeymoon spot for my (future) wedding.
