This post is super exciting for so many reasons. First off, welcome to the first post of my new category “New York Minute Reads”, and it’s the first post in my new fashion series: “Style Splurges”! That was a lot so I’ll quickly break it down for you. If you read last week’s Weekly Rewind (if not, what are you even doing here?! Go read it first ?) then you know that I was debating starting a new category on my blog that would hold “quick-read” style posts; essentially these are posts that you can read in under 5 minutes, or a New York Minute, if you know what I mean (ha! come on give me points for that one!). Any way these will range from fashion finds, photo diaries, and (my personal favorite) chit-chats about recent pop culture events! I am SO excited to explore this new category here at PLH and I really hope that you guys enjoy it as well! Okay moving on, this is also the first of another series on my blog called Style Splurges. You guys know I’m all about affordable finds and looking stylish on a budget, however even I like to #treatmyself and splurge every once in a while. So this category will be dedicated to splurges that I think are worth the money and that I personally recommend. Woo! That was a lot. Okay let’s get into this shall we?
I’ve mentioned the Gal Meets Glam Collection dresses before on PLH (see this post and this IG post) and have been so excited to style these beauties and share them with you all since receiving my order in the mail. I ended up purchasing two dresses, but today we are going to focus on this beauty, the Samantha dress. It comes in two colors: light blue and light pink, and both have these thin white stripes down the entire dress. The best part? That show-stopping back of course! As soon as I saw that strappy back detail and big bow, I knew I had to have this dress. What can I say? I’m a sucker for pretty bows, ha!
Another thing I love about this dress is the length. I’ve been on the hunt for a good midi dress for the longest. Something about them just exudes elegance and a bit of charm that I just love. And as if that wasn’t enough, THE DRESS HAS POCKETS! ?? I know, I know. Can it get any more perfect? The quality is amazing and there are a ton of sizes for nearly everyone. Julia did a great job of really creating a beautiful and inclusive dress line for all shapes and sizes. I truly feel like this is the perfect dress for so many occasions and can’t wait to wear it out this spring and summer. It’s well worth the price tag if you’re on the fence about trying a Gal Meets Glam Collection dress!
