Taking it back to this perfect beach day at The Rockaways in Queens, NY! I’ll admit that I was a bit skeptical about NYC beaches because, well, it’s the concrete jungle. After attending school in Miami, I just didn’t think we would find some quality beaches in the city but I was definitely wrong! The Rockaways were about a 45 minute to an hour train ride away and were the perfect escape during the summer heat! Not going to lie, it was a bit packed since we went during the Fourth of July weekend, but we still totally enjoyed soaking up the sun with our speaker playing, and splashing in the (chilly but refreshing!) ocean for a while. PRO TIP: we also picked up a few snacks from the grocery store on our way to the beach (there was a store right by the train stop) including this super delicious watermelon that was seriously one of our best decisions in 2017, ha!
Let’s get on to the details now. This adorable pink one piece is from Forever 21 and guys, this was probably my favorite swimsuit this year. The color is perfect for summer (I’m just drawn to bright, fun colors for the beach/pool) and the fit was really flattering. It was one of those suits that just make you feel confident and cute, even if you ate a little too much before heading out to the water, ha! My cover up is actually a dress that I shrunk in the wash (oops!) and is from Love Culture a few years ago. I’m not even sure they have physical stores anymore but it used to be my one-stop-shop for a quick outfit during my college days! My sunnies are the Ray-Ban Wayfarer Folding Classic style in Tortoise, and my bag is very old from Wet Seal. Well that’s all I’ve got for today! Have a great week ladies!
