Pin my Trader Joe’s Fall Haul for later!
It’s that time of year guys! When Trader Joe’s brings out all the pumpkin and apple flavored goods for fall and people go wild. It’s me; I’m people. Any way these are some of my favorite posts to read. I love seeing what other people are finding and loving at arguably one of the best grocery stores in the U.S. (in my humble opinion), so today I wanted to share my Trader Joe’s fall haul for you guys! I stocked up and tried all the pumpkin goods so that I can give my honest opinions if you’re curious or on the fence about something. Keep reading to check out my hits (AND misses!) from my Trader Joe’s fall haul this year.
So as you can see above, I got a ton of pumpkin treats. Thus, I’ve broken up today’s post into some smaller, digestible groups and will link whatever I can below each photo but I’d obviously recommend going into a store if you live near one!
Breakfast
Pumpkin Pancake & Waffle Mix | Pumpkin Spice Almond Beverage
Hits: These pumpkin bagels are seriously the bomb.com. I’m a huge bagel girl though so maybe I’m biased, but my boyfriend and I love these so much and buy them every year! Another amazing choice: the pumpkin pancake & waffle mix. Omg this mix makes the best pumpkin pancakes that not only make your kitchen smell divine on a Saturday morning, but also taste like a yummy bite of fall. Highly recommend.
Miss: I really wanted to love the Pumpkin Spice Almond Beverage but unfortunately wasn’t all that impressed. Fair warning: it is quite literally orange and kind of looks like a glass of orange milk but the flavor isn’t anything special. I read somewhere to try it in coffee and after doing so, still wasn’t that impressed with it.
Dinner
Zucchette Pasta | Autumnal Harvest Sauce
I picked up this adorable pumpkin-shaped pasta and the Autumnal Harvest Creamy Pasta Sauce because, why not? Though I haven’t made the pasta yet, (I imagine it’ll be like any other pasta, just pumpkin shaped) I have tried the sauce and really liked it! I made it for dinner one night with some ravioli, English peas, and spicy Italian sausage (all from Trader Joe’s) and it was really yummy. I wouldn’t say it tasted incredibly autumnal but it was a nice mix-up from the usual red sauce.
Dessert
Pumpkin Bread Mix | Pumpkin Chocolate Chunk Cookie Mix
Obviously this is my favorite category of this Trader Joe’s fall haul, haha. I have a huge sweet tooth and just had to try all the sweet pumpkin treats.
Hits: All of them! Seriously so so good. Okay fine, I haven’t made the Pumpkin Chocolate Chunk Oatmeal Cookie Mix yet but I imagine it’s delicious. The Pumpkin Rolls are honestly one of my favorite Trader Joe’s fall finds ever. I got them last year too and haven’t stopped thinking about them since. I may have to go back and get a couple of cans to freeze for later—that’s how good these are! The Pumpkin Bread & Muffin Mix is also amazing. I was able to make two loaves of Pumpkin Bread with this one box, added some chocolate chips because of course, and it was SO good. Definitely will be purchasing again. The Pumpkin Ice Cream is also really good if you’re a pumpkin fan. If not, maybe skip this one as it does have a pretty strong pumpkin/cinnamon flavor, but it’s super creamy and a really nice treat if you’re into pumpkin and all things fall.
Bakery
Again, my sweet tooth had a field day in Trader Joe’s and I couldn’t resist popping by the bakery section. But hey! It’s for blog research, right? The black & white cookies are not pumpkin flavored, they just dyed the normally-white icing to be orange on one side and they’re pretty yummy. Definitely pretty sweet but that’s a black & white cookie for you. These little Chocolate Mousse Pumpkins were too cute to pass up! They’re basically just little chocolate cakes with a layer of chocolate mousse and frosting on the outside but I really enjoyed them. They’re a nice small treat when you’re craving something sweet.
Bonus: Hot Cocoa!
Okay obviously these aren’t fall/pumpkin themed treats but I couldn’t resist! Last year I tried to wait until wintertime to grab these Hot Cocoa flavored items and they were GONE, so this year I wasted no time. Unfortunately, I didn’t love the Hot Cocoa O’s. Trader Joe’s cereal just doesn’t do it for me honestly. I find that it never has a ton of flavor and gets soggy really quickly; which these did. I did enjoy the Hot Cocoa Toaster Pastries. They’re really chocolate-y which is always a hit for me.
Misses (not pictured)
In order to make this as comprehensive as possible I wanted to also note a few other Trader Joe’s pumpkin products that I tried in 2018 and did not enjoy. Obviously they’re not pictured since I didn’t repurchase them this year, but I figured you guys should know which items may not be worth your time…
The pumpkin toaster pastries, I was not a fan of. They weren’t bad, they just weren’t that good and I ended up not even finishing the box. I also was really not a fan of the pumpkin oatmeal which I wanted to love. I love me some oatmeal but the pumpkin pecan one at Trader Joe’s is just so overly sweet, even I couldn’t get into it. The “Pumpkin Walks Into A Bar” snack bars are okay but nothing to write home about. They also weren’t bad, but I didn’t even care to repurchase them this year so that speaks for itself. I also wasn’t into the Pumpkin O’s cereal. It got mushy really fast which was pretty disappointing.
And that concludes my Trader Joe’s fall haul for this year! Okay question time. Are you as big a Trader Joe’s fan as I am? And if so, what are your favorite seasonal items? Like I said, I love adding to my list and hearing other people’s Trader Joe’s recommendations so please share in the comments or over on Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook!
