Wow I’ve wanted to share this post with you guys for months now and I’m so excited to finally do it today. Last year I shared my skincare routine for my combination/oily skin and while I did love that routine at the time, my new routine is so much better for my skin. Full disclosure: these products are definitely not drugstore prices and can get pretty expensive but I seriously cannot recommend them enough. Splurging a bit on my skincare routine has made all the difference for me, and I don’t see myself switching anytime soon. So let’s get into it.
As you can tell by now, my new skincare routine is all thanks to a brand called ELEMIS. They’re a luxury British skincare brand that’s huge in the UK, and has been picking up steam in the US this year. You can even find ELEMIS products in ULTA stores now, which is huge and so convenient! But to be completely transparent, I hadn’t even heard of ELEMIS before I started working as a graphic designer for them for a few months this year. I promise this post is not biased since I worked there, and it’s not sponsored at all; they don’t even know I’m writing this, haha. I just completely fell in love with the products and love the results that they gave my skin, so I wanted to share with you all.
While I worked at ELEMIS, I definitely took advantage of my employee discount at the time and tried a ton of their products to see what would work for me. And like I said before, these products do cost a pretty penny so today I’m going to share my absolute favorites with you, that I think are worth the price tag.
ELEMIS Dynamic Resurfacing Range
Dynamic Resurfacing Facial Wash
Hands down, these are my favorite products from ELEMIS. The Dynamic Resurfacing range is formulated to stimulate cell turnover in your skin and literally help the resurfacing process along to reveal healthier, smoother skin. I wanted to try this stuff to get rid of my acne scarring all along my jawline and cheeks and seriously NOTHING has changed my skin like this line of products. First up we have the facial wash which I absolutely love. It’s a silky cream texture that comes out of a pump, and smells like heaven. I use this like any other facial wash, usually in the shower, and rinse with warm water.
Dynamic Resurfacing Facial Pads
After that I go in with these facial pads. These are basically pre-soaked, lightly exfoliating facial wipes that each have the right amount of product on them for one use. You wipe them over your entire face (avoiding your eyes), and this serves as the exfoliation and toner step of my normal routine. Love, love, love these.
Dynamic Resurfacing Day Cream SPF 30
I finish off this routine with the Dynamic Resurfacing Day Cream SPF 30. This is important because since your skin is resurfacing and your cells are actively changing, you must use an SPF with this range to protect those fresh skin cells from harmful sun rays. This range also has a night cream but I actually don’t have that for some reason? Definitely on my list of products to purchase, but in the meantime I use one of my other favorite ELEMIS night creams, which I’ll talk about soon.
ELEMIS Superfood Range
This is my favorite everyday facial wash! When I’m not using the Dynamic Resurfacing system, I’m definitely using this guy. It has a great gel texture and smells like you’re literally rubbing green juice on your face, haha. Some people aren’t really a fan of the smell, but me and Craig love it. This facial wash is on the cheaper end for ELEMIS so if you’re looking to start slow, I definitely recommend this one.
Superfood Day Cream & Night Cream
Similarly, when I’m not dynamically resurfacing my face (so intense lol), I’m using these guys with the Superfood Facial Wash. I like to use products from the same range all together so that they work as best as possible, since they’re formulated to compliment each other. These are both nice and light creams that also smell like veggies/fruits. They’re great for everyday. Admittedly though, I tend to use the day cream more than the night cream, because my absolute favorite night cream is in the Pro-Collagen range which I’ll get into right now…
ELEMIS Pro-Collagen Range
This product is awesome! It’s unlike anything I’ve ever used and it’s an instant favorite whenever I get someone to try it. It starts as a waxy, balmy texture in the container but once you warm it between your hands, it becomes more of an oil texture. It’s so hard to explain but it is seriously AWESOME, haha. And the smell is amazing. I use this to remove my makeup and cleanse my face after a long day and it’s such a nice experience. Afterwards my skin feels super soft, smooth, and clean.
Pro-Collagen Oxygenating Night Cream
This is probably the most expensive item in my routine but man, is it a great product. It’s another pro-collagen product so it’s great for preventative anti-aging if you’re in your twenties like myself. This night cream is meant to help your skin absorb oxygen while you sleep, which helps you look more alive/awake in the morning when you wake up. I really like it because of the super silky texture and the cooling effect it has on my skin. I use this as the final step in my skincare routine at night, and my pores feel open and my skin feels so fresh, I love it!
ELEMIS Toners
Before this, I never really knew what to do with a toner. I didn’t know where they fit into my routine and I just wasn’t interested to be honest. But this one is a game changer for me. I use this toner right after I wash my face with one of the cleansers above and it’s one of my favorite steps in my routine. It has a light, spa-like scent and I love that it comes out as a fine mist. I spray about 12 pumps onto a large cotton round and go over my entire face. It’s super cooling and dries in a few seconds. My face feels extra clean after this toner and it’s one of the cheaper items by ELEMIS, which is great since me and Craig fly through this stuff. Pro-tip: We buy the super size and just refill the smaller bottle (shown in the photos). It’s a better value and creates less waste!
