Remember last week when I mentioned that I may want to create a new category on here for shorter, quick-read style posts? Well that idea pretty much took off in my brain over the weekend and I decided to start it this week! Head on over to the very first New York Minute Read if you haven’t already, AND this one is even more special because it’s also the first in a new blog series that I’ve created called Style Splurges. You can read all about that in the post, and I’m really excited about the addition of both of these new series. I think they’ll bring another level to PLH that I feel like I’ve been missing.
Aside from that, I’m excited to announce that my email newsletters are about to be LIT! (lol I can’t believe I actually just typed that in a blog post) But seriously, I’ve been working hard on my newsletter ideas and their design, so come join my newsletter squad to get updates on new blog posts and access to a bunch of exclusive content that I have planned. This is a NEW category that I’m adding to these Weekly Rewinds 🙂 Here I’ll break down random things I’m loving this week, such as music, movies, TV shows, a news story, and so on. Just another way for you and me to connect really.
- This article from Wit & Delight was SO real! We all get stuck in ruts sometimes— that’s life. But it’s how you deal with that rut, and get to the other side of it, that matters. Such a great read and a great reminder that there’s always light at the end of the tunnel?
- The Bold Type season 2 is starting next month!! If you don’t know what I’m talking about, it’s a scripted show on Freeform that basically follows three best friends living and working in NYC (like yours truly), except they work at the biggest women’s magazine of all time (modeled after Cosmo). It’s actually really good and I’m not just saying that because I love pretty much all shows/movies based in NYC, ha!
- Speaking of TV shows based in NYC, I recently started rewatching Gossip Girl on Netflix and I’m so glad that I did. If you know me, or read this blog post ?, you know that I’m obsessed with Gossip Girl and it’s partially responsible for me living in NYC today!
- Avocados…you guys I don’t know who I’m becoming but recently I’ve been obsessed with avocados. Avocado toast, guacamole, avocado on my sandwiches…who do I think I am?! Pro-Tip: if you love eggs like me, add scrambled eggs and bacon to your avocado toast. To.Die.For.
- Avengers! You guys we finally saw the new Avengers movie last weekend and OMG, that was insane! I love a good superhero movie (I know, random) and this one definitely did not disappoint. Go see it if you’re even remotely interested!

Down for a little spring shopping? Here’s what I have my eye on this week!
Since the weather has been so nice in NYC recently, I’ve been wearing a ton of sandals and flats. And while this is great for my outfits (I love cute sandals!), it’s not so great for my poor feet. Everyday when I first get out of bed my poor feet hurt so badly! I’m pretty sure it’s because my sandals offer little to no support whatsoever, so walking around in them all day at work is not doing me any favors. All that to say, I’ve been on the hunt for some new spring & summer shoes that should be a little bit better on my soles (and look cute at the same time?). I placed an, admittedly too big, shoe order the other day so stay tuned for a spring/summer shoe haul coming soon!

Cheers to the freakin’ weekend! Let’s talk plans, shall we?
This weekend is supposed to be so rainy! If the rain holds off, I have a rooftop brunch event for diverse women influencers (which should be a lot of fun!) on Saturday morning and then probably just shooting some more blog content for you guys and a chill day on Sunday. However if it does end up raining both days and the event is cancelled, I’m totally unopposed to having a relaxing weekend inside, with plenty of Netflix, Seamless orders and a cozy blanket. Wow that actually sounds great…
